In October, Maggie and I attended a 12 hour workshop over two Saturday's on the Montessori method. The workshop was incredibly eye-opening and inspiring and we can't wait to share what we learned with everyone!
First off, I wanted to share their beautiful staged classroom that they use for their teacher trainings. It really helped us imagine how we can recreate these environments in our own home. They were a beautiful mix of quality, natural toys and materials along mixed with low-cost, beautiful toys and materials.
One example that comes to mind is a gorgeous station for washing and drying linens, including a high quality wooden wash counter with basin. In another area of the room is a small, delicate tin with a simple grey putty eraser inside. I could just imagine a child's joy in opening and discovering the contents!
Here are some photos from the center to hopefully inspire you, as well!
